# Editing files

Files can be edited by clicking the pencil icon in the bottom right of the screen. If you don't see this icon, you need to [log in to the Smmall Cloud dashboard.](https://smmall.cloud/me)

### Common attributes

The following attributes can be set on any file regardless of type.

#### Title

This will update the display title of your file on the page and the preview title when you share it on social media.

**Note**

This will add a note to your file detail page. It will also update the meta description for search engines and previewing on social media. Limited markdown is supported. &#x20;

**Thumbnail**

Smmall Cloud will attempt to automatically generate thumbnails for your content but in some situations that is not possible. You can update this thumbnail and over ride it for every file type. This will update the cover image preview when you share on social media.

The demensions of the thumbnail are `1200` x `600`

**Background Color**

Smmall Cloud automatically supports light and dark mode for all file types. If you want to set a custom background color for your file, you can adjust that here.

### Video Attributes

The following controls only appear on video files.

#### Embed

You can get your video embed code here.

**Autoplay**

You can set your video to autoplay as soon as the page loads.

### Lottie Attributes

The following controls only appear on Lottie animation files.
